Burning Permits are required April 1st. to October 31st.
Burning Permits and further information may be obtained free of charge for all other times from the Metchosin Volunteer Fire Department:

A Combined effort of the Metchosin Volunteer Fire Department, the Municipal

Emergency Program, the District of Metchosin, and the Residents of Metchosin.

What: Licensed CPR Level C & SFA Courses for Metchosin residents

When: Ongoing

Where: At the Metchosin Firehall 4440 Happy Valley Rd.

BiteMe! Fishing Derby

What: the Annual fishing derby to raise funds for Sooke Salmon Enhancement.

When: the second weekend in August

Where: Off the Metchosin Coast! (see the BiteMe! Website.)

Halloween Party

What: Bonfire, Costume Judging, Fishing Pond, Concessions, Fireworks.

When: October 31st of every year!

Where: Metchosin Fire Hall 4440 Happy Valley Rd.

Santa Run

What: Fire Trucks drive Santa to visit around the community.

When: the Sunday before Christmas (December 25)

Where: All Over! Listen for the Fire Truck Sirens.
